October 7, 2011

First of all, I’m not going to moan about the ride that Jacob Butterfield (7) (actually it was (6) last night as he was 1lb over weight)  gave Prime Circle last night. I’m well aware that when you back  a horse with a claimer on you take a chance that he will screw up. He’s not the first and won’t be the last but it’s an important reminder of the benefits of having a jockey that is proven on board. In reality Prime Circle probably had enough in hand last night and the trainer might have used someone more experienced. Hindsight’s a wonderful thing. At least the other selection, Ducal won.

Back to Wolves tonight and there are some more well-rated animals to aim at. Timeteam and Global Village come out top on 106 and both have been well supported. I have dutched them. Later on the card Boa looks to follow up her recent win at the track over the longer trip of 1m6f tonight. She looks to stay well and the form of her win has been boosted twice since. She’s up 2lb which will hopefully not be enough to stop her winning again tonight under George Baker.
