Speedfigs for #Lingfield + Blog 14th Jan

January 14, 2012

The track has been harrowed so may ride a bit slower today.

Prince of Thebes is entitled to respect after winning last time and the close 2nd before that continues to be franked by Shirataki.
The 10yo could be dangerous off bottom weight in this today if the cheek pieces have the desired effect again. Whodunit is also in
fine form and is worth a reverse exacta with the selection.

We have a well rated runner in the next race, also over 1m2f and Majuro is a huge price at around 40/1. The 8yo gelding didn’t have a
good time of it last summer but was thriving last winter and I’m hoping the return to polytrack sees the real Majuro turn up. If so then
he will certainly out-run his price today. He steps up in trip from 7f at Kempton when last seen on the AW off a 3lb lower mark and it’s
possible that this will bring about some improvement, as he has won 3 times over the 9 furlongs at Wolves.

At 1.35 it’s R2 of the BSQ sprint challenge and Diamond Vine (nap) is rated to take this. Lastkingofscotland won well last Monday but has a
poor strike rate these days and Monday’s win was the first in 20 runs. Also, he doesn’t have a assistance of the excellent KT O’Neil this time so I’m happy to take him on. The ‘Rocket’ Ron Harris team have hit form this week with 2 winners and Diamond Vine shaped last time out as though he is ready to strike under Joe Fanning, who is an eye catching booking.

In Div II of the sprint Waabel and Captain Dimitrios are joint top rated and are hard to seperate so the reverse exacta is the call.

Diamond Vine 102 (6) C&T LM1 WM (NAP)
