Speedfigs for #Lingfield 17th March
The best chance today lies with Mother Jones (NAP) in the 3.15 at Lingfied. She finds herself running off an 8lb lower mark today than when winning over 6f at Wolves last November. David Evans’ mare put in a good shift in a 5f selling race last time out, finishing a length behind Where’s Reiley. She was staying on well at the end so the move back up to 6f today seems sensible. Where’s Reiley backed up the form with a follow up win in a claimer next time out.
I’m happy to take on the 7/4 fav Catalinas Diamond who only just won last time and is now on a mark 3lb higher which is a mark she has never won off. She doesn’t win many, rarely runs a good race twice in a row, and and is a horse that needs everything to drop right. Good luck to anyone backing her today. They will need it!
I think 9/2 for Mother Jones represents great value in what is essentially a 4-runner race with the 2 rags running from over a stone out of the handicap. One of this pair is also unfortunate enough to be ridden by Ann Stokell. In contrast, we have Luke Morris booked who has gone close on the mare before.
