#Speedfigs + Blog for #Lingfield 15th Feb

February 15, 2014

Plenty of big numbers around as per normal on a Saturday, also plenty of potential banana skins, as Saturday’s have a tendency to be either very good or very bad!  Hopefully today will continue in the same vein as yesterday with a fair few winners and a winning NAP.

Scottish Star kicks things off for us in a tight contest over 1m4f. He won over slightly further at the course last month, beating the progressive Echo Brava, who was a NR when highly rated yesterday. He went up 3lb for that win but Ryan Tate (5) takes over today and means that the hike in the weights in wiped out and he is effectively running off a 2lb lower mark.

Royal Prize was very well supported last time on his first run for 127 days but only managed to finish 5th, not beaten far, mind. So he should come on plenty for that and with the fav, Rebellious Guest going up again in the weights, could find himself a winning opportunity for owner Jeff Smith.

The best bet of the day for me is Club House (NAP) who won’t be a big price like the last time he was a NAP, but has been shrewdly placed by trainer Robert Mills and is un-penalised for his latest win in an apprentice race and actually gets to race off his new 2lb lower mark today. The horse looks to be taking his racing well and can land the hat-trick this afternoon. Furthermore, jockey, Georgean Buckle can continue the winning partnership claiming his full allowance today.

Multitask was an easy winner last time and looks up to following that up with another win.
